Baby Boden: The Third Trimester.

THIRD TRIMESTER RECAP:

SYMPTOMS:

The usual third trimester symptoms: lack of sleep, belly pain, exhaustion. It is so difficult trying to sleep on my side. At this point, she has dropped quite a bit so it’s becoming a bit easier to breathe. The lack of sleep towards the end of pregnancy is no joke. By the end of the day (really around 5PM) I’m tired but have terrible insomnia. I’m only getting about 3-4 hours of sleep each night (with an hour-hour and a half nap in the early morning.) I realize that I won’t be sleeping once she makes her arrival BUT at least I’ll be sleepy when my head hits the pillow.

WORKOUTS:

Continuing to walk several miles each day. I’ve definitely cut way back though. I’m just barely getting 10,000 steps/day but it’s what I shoot for. I tried lifting weights a couple of times around 30 weeks but decided to just hold off until she arrives. I’ve read too many horror stories about lifting while pregnant. Side-note: If you’re into lifting while pregnant – that’s great! It’s just not for me this time around.

CRAVINGS:

I can’t stop eating Panera Whole Grain Bagels + Hazelnut cream cheese! Why didn’t I know about this combination prior to pregnancy?! I’ve also been making a huge pot of chili each week for the past month (side note: check out this, this and this recipe!)

OVERALL MOOD:

Anxious about the upcoming labor and delivery but SO excited to meet our little girl. Her nursery is coming together and we have everything we need (or think we need) for the first couple of months. I have all of the ‘essential’ items put together for her (crib, bassinet, swing, changing table); however, I still need to decorate. I’m just not feeling very creative. I have a ton of stuff to use – it’s just a bit daunting! I’ll share photos of her nursery when it is finished.
